The first time I met Victoria Teoh was at The Marsden Hospital when she had to break the news that the lump in my left breast was malignant. Her approach was in my mind perfect. It was a mixture of carefully telling me the details & comforting without being over the top..From before my operation & afterwards I felt very comfortable & confident . She has the added advantage of having a lovely voice.!

My friend recently had a double Mastectomy, followed by further surgery after an infection, both being carried out by Victoria. She has always been very caring, informative with clear and precise updates, and she exudes confidence to all during a very worrying and difficult time for us. Nothing but praise for this highly professional surgeon.

Miss Teoh is an exceptional combination of professionalism, ability to communicate complex and potentially worrying information clearly, and a compassionate and caring personality. Each time I saw her she was always genuinely cheerful and positive. She took time to explain all the procedures I was to undergo, likely course of my recovery and possible complications in a very clear and easily understandable way. In spite of a heavy workload (and I noted that she was always ready to stand in and help colleagues in other departments) I never felt hurried and had plenty of time to ask questions. Her knowledge and professionalism were very reassuring and I'm sure contributed to my lack of concerns and straightforward progress so far. As well as acting as a very accomplished medical professional, she engages with patients and staff at all levels in a very human way. For example, sharing personal experiences and even noticing and dealing with simple needs (eg a drink of water, extra pillow) when the nurses were busy.

Victoria is a thorough and confidence giving professional. A skilful and intelligent surgeon who is also adept at more minor medical procedures with a great ability to distract during uncomfortable times. She is excellent at explaining and answering questions and has a brilliant interaction with patients and their loved ones that makes you feel you are her sole patient. I witnessed excellent management skills and her smoothly taking charge when in a group of medical personnel. An undoubted star who is guaranteed to be more and more valuable to her profession in the future.

Victoria has been, and continues to be, a truly remarkable physician. She has a wonderful way of explaining the complicated and making it understandable from the start and also called the sequence of healing of my wound so accurately from day one that no part of my treatment has come as a surprise and is proceeding exactly as she predicted may weeks ago. She is kind, gentle and takes huge interest in you as a person, not simply a patient and that is just so refreshing in a busy & stretched NHS. I have watched her manner with consultants, nurses and auxiliary staff at the Royal Marsden on a weekly basis and she does the same with colleagues too, which I have noticed makes them want to go that extra mile for her as they feel appreciated and professionally consulted. Victoria is someone whose career I shall watch with interest, as I am certain she will be a great attribute to any medical establishment she attends, although I feel her passion for the NHS will hopefully keep her here!
